Sport Sense recently wrapped up another successful half-term basketball program tailored for young athletes aged 12-17 at Murrayside Community Centre. Spanning three days, our focus remained on skill enhancement and nurturing a passion for basketball among participants.
Day 1: She's Got Game
The program began with "She's Got Game," a day dedicated to female athletes. Coaches led drills in shooting, dribbling, defence, and finishing to help build solid fundamental skills and boost confidence. It was inspiring to see our female hoopers come out strong and showcase their passion for the game.
Day 2: Ballers Brotherhood
"Ballers Brotherhood" catered to male athletes aiming to enhance their skills. The sessions focused on basketball fundamentals like dribbling, shooting, and defence. As always, we emphasised teamwork and sportsmanship, resulting in lively competitive games.
Day 3: Scrimmage/Games The program concluded with our popular scrimmage and games session which was open to all participants. This high-energy session provided a fun and competitive platform for the players to demonstrate their progress and enjoy friendly competition on the court.
Once again, we would like to extend a huge thank you to all the players who came through this week, it's always great to connect with our local hoopers!
